BIOM 6800 - Proteins and Proteomics(3 credits) Prerequisites: Biomedical Science I and II (BIOM 5010 /BIOM 6010 and BIOM 5020 /BIOM 6020 ), or permission of the course director. This is an advanced graduate course on proteins, proteomics, and computer analysis of proteins. Topics to be covered include: protein structure, molecular modeling, protein purification, sequence analysis, protein-protein interactions, protein-nucleic acid interactions, and proteome analysis, using techniques, such as 2D-gels and mass spectrometry. Lectures and literature discussions. Offered in even numbered years. (spring, even years)
