(3 credits) A study of the causes and consequences of German unification; the Bismarkian period, the Wilhelmian Age; Weltpolitik and World War I, the Weimar Republic, Hitler and the Nazi Era; World War II and its aftermath. Emphasis will be placed on political, economic, social, and diplomatic developments.
