NRSE 6000 - Theoretical Foundations of Nursing Practice(3 credits) Prerequisites: Admission to the doctoral program. This course will actively engage students in the analysis and evaluation of contemporary nursing knowledge, conceptual systems, and theories. Philosophical and historical dimensions of the development of nursing knowledge, the relationship between knowledge development and development of the discipline, strategies for theory development, and theoretical adequacy for nursing practice will be explored.
