(3 credits)Prerequisites: Permission of the instructor. This course is directed toward developing an understanding of autonomic nervous system function. Topics to be included are principles of synaptic transmission, peripheral neurotransmitters, second messenger systems, and autonomic nervous system modulation of physiological and metabolic functions.
