(3 credits) This foundation course is designed to provide students with an understanding of and appreciation for research methods and techniques used by social workers. The basic problem-solving process is presented and related to other social work methods. Students will begin developing skills in research and evaluation methods through the use of practical experiential applications and will learn how to critically evaluate research studies, to raise pertinent researchable questions, and to engage in systematic steps to find answers to these questions.
