PMSC 3231 - Compounding and Dispensing Lab(2 credits) Prerequisites: PMSC 3122 . Corequisites: PMSC 3235 . This course involves processing a prescription or medication order, the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceutical solution, emulsion, suspension, semi-solid and solid dosage forms and development and practice of the patient counseling skills necessary for proper use of the compounded product. During the laboratory session, emphasis will be placed on the selection of proper excipients, based on physico-chemical principles, for use in the extemporaneous compounding preparation.
