(4 credits)Prerequisites: GEOL 3395 or permission of instructor. This course covers “higher” vertebrate (birds and mammals) evolution through time and discusses how it is (and has been) interpreted from the fossil record. In addition, new theories and recent discoveries will be addressed (specifically, their relevance to past and current thinking). Two 1- hour lectures and two 3-hour labs weekly. (fall, odd years)
