PHRM 2312 - Medical Pharmacology(8 credits) Required of all second-year medical students. This course provides instruction in drugs commonly used in medical practice including their classifications, mechanisms of actions, pharmacokinetic properties, therapeutic usages, common adverse effects, and contraindications. In addition, pharmacogenetics, drug interactions, and certain aspects of toxins and poisons encountered in medical practice are discussed through lectures, computer and human patient simulation, clinical conferences, videotapes, small group discussions, and optional web-based instruction.
