HIST 3931 - History of Medicine(3 credits) This course chronologically reviews several select eras and events that have significantly shaped the process of healing throughout history. The scientific, social, geographical, political, religious, economic, and public health aspects underlying the challenges presented by various diseases will be explored. Key historical changes in defining illness, disease, health, and wellness as well as in developing classification systems of disease are examined from the viewpoints of both healers and sufferers.
