ECED 6100 - Historical and Theoretical Basis for Early Childhood Education(3 credits) This course is an in-depth investigation and critical analysis of early childhood education from early historical time to the 21st century. Focus is on changing perceptions and expectations of family and young children, establishing the relationship between past perceptions, current practices, and the rebirth of persistent ideas. This course will include the study of theorists and educators who have influenced the field and shaped both past and current practices.
