MALS 5350 - Theory and Practice of Regionalism

(3 credits)
Uses interdisciplinary approaches to examine the theory and practice of regionalism. Course topics may include “old” vs. “new” regionalisms (globalization and the market model; government/ governance and empowerment; regionalism, localism and provincialism) and critical regionalism (modernization, urbanization, and the homogenization of culture; space, place, bioregion, and sustainability).
