MALS 5350 - Theory and Practice of Regionalism(3 credits) Uses interdisciplinary approaches to examine the theory and practice of regionalism. Course topics may include “old” vs. “new” regionalisms (globalization and the market model; government/ governance and empowerment; regionalism, localism and provincialism) and critical regionalism (modernization, urbanization, and the homogenization of culture; space, place, bioregion, and sustainability).
