STAT 5057 - Mathematical Statistics II

(3 credits)

Prerequisites: MATH 2110 and STAT 4047 or STAT 5047.

Continues Mathematical Statistics I and introduces the theory of mathematical statistics, estimation, and hypothesis testing. Topics include efficiency, consistency, sufficiency, robustness, methods of estimation, confidence intervals, Bayesian inference as well as the Neyman-Pearson lemma, power functions, likelihood ratio tests, hypothesis tests, and applications.
