PSYC 7100 - Primary Care Psychology I(3 credits) Provides comprehensive introduction to the role of a primary care psychologist in an integrated practice, with an emphasis on practice in rural regions. The psychologist role in providing assessment and intervention for common presenting problems in primary care is thoroughly explored. Several types of intervention efforts are examined, including risk factor modification and secondary preventive/rehabilitative efforts for chronic illness. Critical evaluation of the current theory and data in each of these areas are emphasized.
