RHSC 5100 - Clinical Biomechanics and Kinesiology

(2 credits)

Introduces the study of biomechanics and kinesiology as it relates to the clinical practice of Orthotics and Prosthetics. Emphasis is placed on forces and motions acting on human body structures statically and dynamically. The mechanics of bones, joint complexes, muscles and connective tissues is examined, including an introduction to the application of biomechanical scientific principles in the evaluation of the musculoskeletal system.
