SURV 2550 - Surveying Measurement Fundamentals

(3 credits)

Prerequisites: SURV 1550 or permission of instructor.

Introduces principles of field data acquisition, measurements of distance, angle, and elevation using tapes, total stations, and levels. Basic surveying computations for elevations, directions, traverse closures, areas, magnetic directions, preparation of topographic maps from radial measurements, basic measurement error theory is included. Lectures and field labs.
