CPSC 3010 - Foundations of Respiratory Therapy Lab

(3 credits)

Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Respiratory Therapy program.

Provides laboratory instruction in the fundamental modalities of respiratory therapy and their clinical application. Emphasis is placed on indications, contraindications, hazards, and patient assessment associated with common therapeutic interventions. Experience is gained through hands-on practice to develop competency in basic patient care skills, including patient assessment and documentation, oxygen therapy, aerosol and humidity therapy, and medication delivery to the airways.
