BIOL 4087 - Forest Ecology and Management

(4 credits)
Prerequisites: BIOL 3200  or BIOL 3300  or BIOL 1130  and BIOL 1131  

Covers ecological plant processes that act at the individual, population, and community scales, and the forest management techniques that utilize them. The course covers topics such as how biotic and abiotic conditions affect plant life histories, plant abundance, distributions, and demography, with a focus on trees and other forest plants. It also teaches basic concepts in experimental design, data analysis, and data interpretation as well as skills critical to creating and executing forest management plans.
