CPSC 3030 - Respiratory Anatomy and Physiology

(2 credits)
Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Respiratory Therapy program.

Examines the structure and function of the respiratory, cardiovascular, and renal systems, with emphasis on their interrelationships. A study of the respiratory system includes ventilation and oxygen transport, mechanics of breathing, ventilation-perfusion relationships, gas transport mechanisms, and neural control of ventilation. Additional topics include circulation, tissue perfusion, and acid-base balance.
