CUAI 5454 - Teaching Middle Grades (4-8) Mathematics

(2 credits)
Prerequisites: Admission to teacher education, READ 5453 , and READ 5452 . Corequisites: CUAI 5458  A minimum of 30 hours of field experience is included in this block. This course addresses methodology and theories for teaching and learning mathematics in the middle grades (4-8), with attention paid to national standards, problem solving, diversity, current technologies, assessment, current issues in mathematics education, reflective teaching and learning, and the application of mathematics content to everyday life. (fall, spring)
