EDFN 2325 - Child and Adolescent Development for Educators

(3 credits)
The intent of this course is to focus on human development from conception through adolescence with examples and applications primarily focusing on educational settings. It provides a multi-theoretical approach to the aspects of human development that are impacted by human interaction and nurturing, as well as those that are relatively unaffected by environmental input. Key concepts include, but are not limited to, gross and fine motor development, temperament, visual and auditory perception, family characteristics, genetic inheritance, attention, cognitive tempo, play, and language development as they impact academic learning.
