The Department of Exercise and Sport Science offers a B.S. in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Science. Our faculty have experience with USOC Olympic Training Centers, strength and conditioning, physical therapy, hospital fitness/wellness, athletic training, and personal training to name a few.
The Exercise Science concentration is a multidisciplinary approach to exercise, fitness, and wellness. This concentration is suggested for the student who is interested in a career in physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, sports medicine, corporate fitness, and related fields. The primary emphasis is on the effects of exercise on various body systems. Support studies provide a knowledge base oriented toward exercise programming, lifestyle maintenance and health promotion/risk reduction.
Graduate Study - The Department of Exercise and Sport Science offers an M.A. and Ph.D. in Sport Physiology and Performance. This program offers a very unique experience working directly with collegiate athletes and coaches. Additional information is available in the Graduate Catalog.
