General Program Information
Note: All students in the SALM major are required to make a grade of ‘C’ or better in all major classes. Courses may be retaken for grade adjustment in accordance with university policy. Park and Recreation Management Concentration
The park and recreation management concentration provides instruction and training in the planning, organization, and leadership and management of park and recreation agencies and programs. Students can choose from two tracks within the major; recreation administration or outdoor leadership. This flexibility allows students to tailor their educational experience to meet their career goals. Students are also given the opportunity to employ theories learned in the classroom in practical settings through the internship program. Students can work in a variety of fields such as community recreation, state/national parks, military recreation, or the outdoor recreation industry. TBR General Education Requirements: 41 Credit Hours
Major Core: 33 Credit Hours
Park and Recreation Management: 21 Credit Hours
Recreation Electives: 15-21 Credit Hours
Guided Electives: 1-7 Credit Hours
Free Electives: 3 Credit Hours
Total Hours Required for Degree: 120 Credit Hours
