The online BS degree completion program in dental hygiene is limited to licensed dental hygienists who hold an associate degree in dental hygiene from an accredited US or Canadian dental hygiene program. All prospective students must make application to the program and the university. This completion degree program is designed to build on the dental hygienist’s prior education and experiential learning and its flexibility and online format allows the working hygienist to complete a BS degree at her or his own pace. All course requirements for this program are online. However, all students are required to attend a one-day on-campus program orientation. After successful completion of DHYG 3100, students are allowed to progress in the program as long as they do not make two D’s or one F in any of the online dental hygiene courses. Otherwise, there are no grade point requirements other than passing the required courses.
