Graduate Certificate in Storytelling

The Graduate Certificate in Storytelling is a 21 credit post-baccalaureate sequence containing core masters-level coursework in storytelling performance skills and practice (Basic and Advanced Storytelling, Historical Foundations, Practicum, Vocal Training, and electives) without certain academically-oriented requirements of the Master’s degree such as Research Methods, Linguistics, and Thesis.

Admission

Completed application form with essay; one official transcript from each undergraduate and graduate institution attended, three letters of recommendation from academic or professional mentors or associates.

STOR 5140 - Foundations of Storytelling Performance (3 credits)
STOR 5230 - Advanced Solo Performance (3 credits)
STOR 5890 - History of Performance Traditions (3 credits)
STOR 5820 - Vocal Training for Professionals (3 credits)
STOR 5241 - Practicum: Storytelling (1-3 credits)

Advisor Approved Electives: 6 credits

Approved electives from Storytelling Program catalogs or related electives with approval of advisor.
