Secondary Education: Non-Licensure Minor Requirements: 24 credits

A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 18 credits of which at least 9 credits must be at the 3000-level or above.

If you wish to pursue a license to teach in Tennessee, please see the minor titled, “Secondary Education Teacher Preparation”.

• READ 4437 - Reading Instruction in Middle and Secondary Schools (3 credits)
• SPED 2300 - Exceptional Learners in Schools and Communities (3 credits)
• CUAI 4416 - Residency I: Middle and Secondary School Curriculum, Instructional Methods, and Assessment (2 credits)
• CUAI 4426 - Residency I: Secondary School Curriculum and Methodology Field Experience (1 credit)
• CUAI 4571 - Pre-Residency: Classroom and Instructional Management in Middle and Secondary Schools (1 credit)
