A journalism minor provides a strong writing foundation that complements any field. Along with acquiring professional publishing skills, students learn the importance of news in their lives and a democratic society. Journalism provides hands-on training in photography, videography, online production, publication design, news reporting and editing. Students also deepen their experience with social media.

Journalism Minor Requirements: 21 credits

A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 18 credits of which at least 9 credits must be at the 3000-level or above.
