The Technical & Professional Writing Minor provides a robust foundation for communicating effectively in various media genres and contexts. Students will learn how to research, design, and author documents and multimedia in ways that supplement their major coursework. The program provides significant opportunities for students to hone their research and writing skills, enhance their multimedia production capabilities, and increase their ability to communicate in the context of their primary field of study.
Technical & Professional Writing Minor: 18 credits
Note: Minimum grade requirement of a C- or better in the minor.
Required Courses: 9 credits
Advisor-Approved Electives: 9 credits

Note: No more than 1 (one) English course required for a student’s English major may also be applied for the minor.
Directions and Restrictions: Other courses may be approved by the department’s Technical Writing Program Director.
Minor Requirement
A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 18 credits of which at least 9 credits must be at the 3000-level or above.
