A sports media minor provides a strong multimedia foundation for students interested in sports and producing sports news, information, and entertainment. Along with acquiring professional media skills, students learn the role sports play in society and their associated effects, such as fandom. Sports media minor students receive hands-on training in photography, videography, online production, writing, reporting, and editing for sports. Students also deepen their experience with social media as it relates to sports, sports teams, sports personalities, and sports fan engagement.
