Nutrition professionals work in a variety of settings where they apply scientific knowledge and skills to provide effective nutritional advice to clients in healthcare, athletic, and community settings. When working with clients, nutritionists use critical thinking skills to apply nutrition science principles. In healthcare and community health, the interdisciplinary healthcare team utilizes the expertise of the nutritionist in planning, implementing, and evaluating nutrition for clients to optimize health, and disease prevention. Nutritionists provide nutrition education, counseling, and health coaching to patients and clients in out-patient settings. The nutrition minor is designed to complement a variety of health-related fields, including rehabilitative sciences, speech-language pathology, exercise science and kinesiology, and allied health. Upon completion of the nutrition minor, students will have the skills to effectively communicate nutrition information to a variety of clients. Nutrition Minor Requirements: 18 credits

Minor Information
A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 15 credits of which at least 6 credits must be at the 3000-level or above. |
