Program Admission Requirements


The following are required for admission into the M.S. in the Sport and Recreation Management graduate program:

  1. An undergraduate degree in physical education, sport management, or closely related field is preferred. Other degrees will be considered by the graduate coordinator.
  2. 2.7 cumulative undergraduate grade point average on a 4.0 scale;
  3. Resume and contact information for at least three academic references;
  4. 500-750 word statement of purpose explaining goals and reasons for desiring to study with the Sport and Recreation Management Program.

Articulation Agreement


Students who have completed the Athletic Administration Graduate Certificate with a B or better grade in all classes may choose to continue their studies and apply for admission into the M.S. in Sport and Recreation Management. For these applicants, all 18 credits for the certificate may apply toward the M.S. degree. These applicants will not be required to submit GRE scores for admission into the M.S. program.

Core Requirements 15 credits
Concentration 9 credits
Thesis or Internship Option 6 credits
Advisor Approved Electives 6 credits
TOTAL 36 credits

Thesis Option: 12 credits


Non-Thesis Option: 12 credits
