The Department of Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Surveying, a unit of the College of Arts and Sciences, is one of the largest and most academically diverse units of East Tennessee State University. The Department offers undergraduate degree programs in numerous concentrations, undergraduate minors, and graduate degree programs in three concentrations. Additionally, there are many majors and/or programs that are available through the Academic Common Market allowing out-of-state students to enroll at ETSU at in-state tuition rates.

Work done for an Associate Degree will not substitute for 4xxx level work.

This certificate program is designed to facilitate a pathway for degreed students seeking credentialling in the field of geomatics, land surveying, or related profession.  Students should seek guidance from the respective licensing state to determine if the certificate will satisfy specific educational requirements for professional licensure.

Admission Requirements

  1. Students must submit an ETSU undergraduate application.
  2. Students enrolling in the certificate must be gainfully employed and working under the supervision of a licensed land surveyor.

Note: Some courses within this certificate program may require proof of relevant employment or verifiable professional supervision for enrollment. Students may be required to provide such documentation prior to registration to ensure appropriate practical experience or professional oversight during the course.
