The Computer Science concentration is designed for students who wish to apply their knowledge to the development of systems level software programs. These applications include but not limited to: real-time graphics simulations, distributed systems, and operating systems. It will also be an asset for those students who are planning for graduate work in computer science. The CS concentration supplements the computing core curriculum with courses in data structures, algorithms, computer architecture, and operating systems. The concentration also requires additional hours of mathematics and science, including the calculus sequence required of mathematics majors and one additional lab science. General Program Information
To earn a degree from ETSU, there are specific course requirements put forth by ETSU, by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), by each college, and by each department. All students must meet the degree requirements at each of these levels. Please follow the format below:
University-level Degree and Graduation Requirements
Total Credit Hours for Degree: 124
TBR General Education Requirements: 41 Credit Hours

Mathematics
Students eligible to enroll in this math course must do so during their first calendar year of enrollment or prior to accumulating 33 semester credits at ETSU. Computer Science Core Requirments: 33 credit hours
Computer Science Concentration: 36 Credit Hours
Major Electives - 9 credit hours
Three approved CSCI electives (at least one at the 3000-4000 level) for a total of 9 credit hours. Free Electives: 5 Credit Hours
