The Division of Theatre and Dance seeks to enhance the cultural environment by creating performances that educate and entertain our students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. The Division produces multiple main-stage productions plus student-directed showcase productions on a yearly basis.
Course offerings include performance courses in acting and dance, as well as production-oriented courses focusing on directing, stagecraft and design. Through a combination of course work and hands-on experiences the Division of Theatre and Dance prepares students to work successfully in all aspects of professional theatre, film, television, or other areas of the entertainment industry. A minor in Theatre complements many majors, as the skills garnered enhance collaborative abilities, confidence and teach creative problem solving techniques.

Theatre Minor: 21 Credit Hours

THEA 1520 - Stagecraft I (3 credits)
OR
THEA 1530 - Stagecraft II (3 credits)
THEA 2510 - Acting I (3 credits)
THEA 2530 - Dramatic Structure (3 credits)

Theatre History (3 credit hours): One course chosen from:

THEA 3520 - Theatre History I (3 credits)
THEA 3525 - Theatre History II (3 credits)
THEA 3535 - Musical Theatre History (3 credits)

Electives: 9 credit hours

Any course with a THEA or DANC prefix not taken to fulfill other minor requirements. At least 6 of these hours must be taken at the 3000- or 4000-level.
