PREH 1350 - Health Professions Exploration Seminar

(3 credits)
Provides students interested in a career in one of the health professions with information about possible health care career choices, the training required, and the components of the admissions process used by the various professional schools. Topics may include critical thinking and ethics in health care, modern trends in the health professions, academic development, the importance of practical experience, GPA/Transcript evaluations, the application process and personal essays, the professional school interview, and a review of “alternative careers”. The course requires completion of 4 hours of practical experience/shadowing in the field of interest, as well as 4 hours of community service. The credit hours changed from 2 to 3 beginning spring 2016.
