BIOL 5167 - Biochemistry of Metabolism

(3 credits)

Prerequisites: BIOL 3100 or equivalent; CHEM 2020/2021 or equivalent. The metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, amino acids, and nucleotides will be covered with emphasis on reactions, enzymes, energy changes, pathway regulation, and pathway integration. Production of energy-rich molecules in the cell will be linked to important cellular functions (i.e., biosynthesis, movement, and transport). Three hours lecture per week. (spring)
