PHAR 6400 - Toxicology(3 credits) Prerequisites: Permission of the instructor. An introduction to toxicology including consideration of heavy metals, organic solvents, alkaloids, glycosides, polypeptides, and techniques used in conducting toxicological research. Special emphasis will be placed on the toxicology of heavy metals and insecticides. The application of gas chromatographic mass spectroscopy as an analytical tool for toxicology will be considered. Offered alternate years. Two hours lecture and demonstration per week. (fall, spring)
