(3 credits) This course is an advanced course in psychiatric disorders of childhood and adolescence. Focus is not only on diagnostic criteria used in identifying these disorders, but on normal and abnormal development models. Methods of assessing childhood behavior problems, including clinical interview of child and parent, parent and child checklists, and structured observation are covered, as well as the most effective treatment strategies.
