HDAL 3610 - Counseling Theory and Practice(3 credits) Prerequisites: HDAL 2320 Counseling Theory and Practice examines the major theories and applications of counseling, focusing primarily on psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, humanistic, and existential/phenomenological approaches to helping people gain more health and happiness in their lives. Applied psychotherapies include individual and group counseling methods, family therapy, brief counseling, career counseling, in home and residential counseling, and expressive therapies.
