GEOL 3391 - Paleobiology(4 credits) Prerequisites: GEOL 1040 , GEOL 1041 This course is designed to give students a broad background in paleontological method and theory, as well as a strong foundation in major animal groups throughout geologic time. Through lectures, discussions, lab exercises, and field trips, students will learn about the formation of fossils, speciation, systematics, evolution, extinction, functional morphology, paleoecology, biogeography, biostratigraphy, and invertebrate and vertebrate groups. (spring, odd years)
