READ 4026 - Residency I: Assessment and Enhancement of Literacy

(3 credits)
Prerequisites: READ 3000 , READ 3100 , and READ 3200 . Study of theoretical foundations for the assessment of reading proficiency and models for building reading competencies. Targets for study include evidence-based components of reading processes. Particular emphasis on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Admission to teacher education required.
