NRSE 3020 - Pharmacology for the Transitioning Licensed Practical Nurse(2 credits) Prerequisites: Successful completion of all first semester LPN to BSN courses.
Provides Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), transitioning to the role of Registered Nurse (RN), with knowledge required to safely administer and monitor medications delivered via a variety of medication administration routes. Topics may include immunosuppressants and central nervous system medications administered via non-parenteral routes as well as intravenous administration of medications including cardiovascular, antidiabetic, analgesics, steroids, anti-infectives, parenteral fluids, blood components, and chemotherapeutic agents to clients in all types of care settings.
