BIOL 4677 - Synthetic Biology and Bioengineering(3 credits) Prerequisites: BIOL 3100 /BIOL 3141 and CHEM 2010 /CHEM 2011 .
Focuses on design and execution of experiments testing hypotheses related to cloning and sequencing of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA), cell free transcription of genes and translation of proteins, metabolic pathway engineering, metabolite identification, and transient expression of genes and product localization in cells. Laboratory intensive course.
