READ 3050 - Foundations of Literacy

Prerequisites: EDFN 2400.

Foundations, content, and pedagogies of elementary reading instruction including a study of teaching strategies, curriculum materials, standards and children’s literature related to the components of reading in elementary classrooms including concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, word accuracy, vocabulary, comprehension, motivation, critical thinking, and 21st century literacies.
