SOWK 5327 - Perspectives on Child Maltreatment and Advocacy(3 credits) Explores child maltreatment and advocacy in America and abroad. This course may include history, comparative perspectives, legal frameworks, responses to child maltreatment, the skills necessary to work in the field of child advocacy, and other pertinent issues pertaining to child maltreatment and child advocacy. Health, cultural, religious, political, educational, and social advocacy issues that affect the welfare and well-being of children may be discussed.
