NRSE 3040 - Community, Population, and Global Health Nursing(2 credits) Prerequisites: Completion of all previous semester coursework.
Corequisites: NRSE 3041
Explores population focused community-based nursing care across local, regional, national, and global settings. Presents foundational principles of public health science incorporated to guide health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness support. Emphasis is placed in evidence-based practice and the nurse’s role in assessing, planning, and implementing care for diverse and vulnerable populations. Explores the influence of lifestyle, environment, and cultural factors on health as well as the nurse’s role as an advocate, educator, and leader in promoting population health.
