Graduate Certificate in Storytelling
The Graduate Certificate in Storytelling is a 21-credit hour post-baccalaureate sequence containing core masters-level coursework in storytelling performance skills and practice (Basic and Advanced Storytelling, Historical Foundations, Practicum, Vocal Training, and electives) without certain academically-oriented requirements of the Master’s degree such as Research Methods, Linguistics, and Thesis.
Admission: Completed application form with essay; one official transcript from each undergraduate and graduate institution attended, three letters of recommendation from academic or professional mentors or associates. Program Coordinator: Joseph Sobol, PhD.D. 423-439-7863, sobol@etsu.edu
If, after completion of the Storytelling Certificate, a student subsequently applies and is admitted into a M.A. in Reading with a concentration in Storytelling, all 21 credits from the certificate may be approved for transfer into the M.A. Reading program.
