The dance minor provides education and training for students who have an interest in learning the creative and technical skills essential to the artistic process of dance. The minor presents experiences for all who love dance, from beginning enthusiast to skilled dancer. The minor program requires completion of 21 credit hours distributed among dance courses in technical skills and movement theory (12), history (3), creative process (3), and performance and production (3). Dance minor students also have opportunities to audition, perform, understudy, and work backstage for the Department of Theatre and Dance plays, musicals, and dance concerts.

Dance Minor: 21 credit hours


A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 18 semester credit hours of which at least 9 hours must be at the 3000-level or above.
