The Coaching Minor has been designed to enable students to develop competencies necessary to coach in public or private schools or recreational settings. Emphasis is placed on psychology and physiology of sport, care and prevention of athletic injury, and advanced skill in coaching. The Department of Sport, Exercise, Recreation, & Kinesiology also offers minors in Park and Recreation, Sport Management, Coaching, and Physical Education.
Coaching Minor Requirements: 18 credits
A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 18 credits of which at least 9 credits must be at the 3000-level or above.
Required Courses: 15 credits
Advisor Approved Electives: 3 credits
