The dance minor provides education and training for students who have an interest in learning the creative and technical skills essential to the artistic process of dance. The minor presents experiences for all who love dance, from beginning enthusiast to skilled dancer. The minor program requires completion of 21 credits distributed among dance courses in technical skills and movement theory (12), history (3), creative process (3), and performance and production (3). Dance minor students also have opportunities to audition, perform, understudy, and work backstage for the Department of Theatre and Dance plays, musicals, and dance concerts.
Dance Minor: 21 credits
A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 18 credits of which at least 9 credits must be at the 3000-level or above.
Technical Skills and Movement Theory: 12 credits
Choose twelve (12) credits from the following (at least one course must be at the 3000/4000 level):
