The proposed curriculum for the Spanish Minor requires 21 credits above the 2000 level. Each course is three (3) credits. There are nine (9) required credits in Spanish, three (3) credits of a Spanish Civilization or Survey elective, and nine (9) credits of Spanish electives, at least three (3) credits of which must come from a course in Applied Spanish. Courses beyond the required classes are selected in consultation with the student’s advisor, based on relevance to the student’s background and interests.

Spanish Minor Pre-requirements

• SPAN 1010 - Beginning Spanish I (3 credits) *
• SPAN 1020 - Beginning Spanish II (3 credits) *
• SPAN 2010 - Second-Year Spanish I (3 credits) *
• SPAN 2020 - Second-Year Spanish II (3 credits) *

• * Based on placement test or equivalent. 

Spanish Minor Requirements: 21 credits

A minor is a secondary area of study outside of the major program of study with a structured curriculum composed of at least 18 credits of which at least 9 credits must be at the 3000-level or above.
